Driver CPC — opening soon

Your 35 hours, without losing a shift

Every course provider in Kent runs midweek, in the day, which costs a working driver a day's pay on top of the fee. We are setting ours up for evenings and weekends, delivered remotely, in 3.5-hour blocks you can fit round a shift.

Pay as you go

Book a 3.5-hour module or a full seven-hour day when it suits you. Hours are uploaded to DVSA for you.

Or spread it monthly

Your seven hours a year covered, your card and expiry dates tracked, and first pick of dates before they go public. Cancel any time on five working days' notice.

Evenings and weekends

3.5-hour blocks, delivered remotely, so you are not giving up a shift to sit in a classroom in Ashford on a Tuesday.

National or International — get this right first

Driver CPC now splits in two. National can be taken as 3.5-hour blocks on any days you like, which is what makes evenings possible. International must be seven hours, and if it is split the two halves have to be on consecutive days. A driver who takes all 35 hours as National cannot drive in Europe, and would have to do the full 35 again to get it back. Sat where we are, next to Dover, we will ask before you book — not after.

If you are self-employed, this comes off your tax

CPC periodic training keeps a qualification you already hold, for work you already do — so for most self-employed and owner-drivers it is an allowable business expense against your profits. That takes a meaningful chunk off what it really costs you. Your accountant will tell you exactly what it is worth at your rate.

Where are you up to?

Most drivers have no idea until the card is nearly out. Put your two numbers in and it will tell you what is left and whether you are behind.

We are going through approval now. Nothing is bookable yet and there is nothing to pay. Put your name down and you will be first to hear when dates open — it also tells us which evenings to run.

No payment, no commitment, and we will not pass your details to anyone. If we do not get approved, we will tell you and that will be the end of it.

Questions

The ones we get asked

What is the difference between National and International CPC?

National can be taken in 3.5-hour blocks on any days, which is what makes evening courses possible. International has to be seven hours, and if it is split the two halves must fall on consecutive days.

The catch: a driver whose whole 35 hours are National cannot drive in Europe, and would have to do all 35 again to get that back. If there is any chance you will cross the Channel, do the International format.
